Lindros Trade?
"Flyers traded Ron Hextall, Steve Duchesne, Kerry Huffman, Mike Ricci, Peter Forsberg, Chris Simon, first round picks in the 1993 and 1994 NHL Entry Drafts and $15 million to the Quebec Nordiques in exchange for the rights to center Eric Lindros"

Nope. Also I should clarify the question, the trade is strictly players, no draft picks. No rights. Players.

How about Max Bentley and Cy Thomas from the Hawks to the Leafs for Gus Bodnar, Bud Poile, Gaye Stewart, Ernie Dickens, and Bob Goldham?

Thats not the one. More players were involved than seven.

I think the number of players involved was 8. Don't know the trade though.

Way to chip away! biggrin.gif No there were not 8 players involved in the trade. That at least narrows down the quantitive value. biggrin.gif

December 1957, Detroit traded Dutch Reibel, Lorne Ferguson, Billy Dea, Bill Dineen sent to the blackhawks for Hec Lalande, Nick Mickoski, Bob Bailey and Jack McIntyre

Im pretty sure this is it but i may be missing a player

No as far as I know the quoted trade was only 8 players. It is not the correct answer.

Have you got a hint for us (besides numeric ones biggrin.gif)? Maybe like era?

It was in the Original 6 Era. It involved the same two (2) teams that were mentioned in post #9.

In 1950 during the off-season between the Black Hawks and Red Wings.

Chicago sent Jim Henry, Gaye Stewart, Bob Goldham and Metro Prystai to Detroit for Harry Lumley, Jack Stewart, Al Dewsbury, Don Morrison and Pete Babando.

QUOTE (kazby @ Apr 5 2009, 03:34 AM)

Is the question referring shocking or just player value? Because I still think the gretsky Deal was pretty big! 2 hours after winning the he gets pulled from his friends celebrating to learn that the Gm doesn't want him on his team and trades his for garbage players. Poor guy! He was crying from uncontrolable enviromental emotions.

Coyote Kazby

Quantative. And Gretzky was traded on Aug 9, 1988 so I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say he was pulled from his friends 2 hours after winning.
