No, in the top-50 part, four goalies, you said there were only three.

Top 50 in games played, not his Top 50.

And yikes, that list is weak... not the way it's put together, just the actual players on it. Yikes.

Oops, missed that part.

I dunno, I don't think it's horrible offensively, and it has a Conn Smythe trophy winner in goal...the defense is pretty bad, though, outside of Wesley.

It owns the Anaheim list! laugh.gif The top isn't bad at all, it's the depth. I noticed this in the Leafs list when I was doing the last 20-40. It got thin for players that really meant something.

Jeez. Have they even had 40 players? happy.gif

seriously though. I'll give it my best shot in half an hour or less.

I find that there is a lot better depth at the top for forwards. This franchise goes through defensemen and goalies like socks.

Out of their top-50 in GP, just three are goalies and 15 are defensemen.

There have been some good players on the blueline for this franchise - they were just there for such a short time, or past their primes, or both.

Not so much for up-front though.

It's just that Francis, Brind'Amour, Staal, Verbeek, Ferraro, Rogers, Stoughton, and Kapanen are a much stronger group of Whalers/Canes than Wesley, Samuelsson, Cote, Quenneville, Hill, Wallin, and Burt.

Same goes for up front...I mean, you add in-their-primes Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull, and you've got a much better team. Who wants to mess with a line of Howe-Francis-Hull? That would be deadly.

I might rank Jeff O'Neill a bit higher. I don't know if that's a bias, the beer-induced judgment clouding, or a legit assessment, but I think he should be top 10.
