That was an amazing game against Ottawa this afternoon, definitely kept me on the edge of my seat!! I'm so excited for the Vanier Cup next weekend, hopefully it'll be as fun as the Mitchell Bowl was last year against Laval! (And as successful too!
). I can't wait!

The Laval Rouge et Or have their third Vanier Cup title in four years. They beat the Saskatchewan Huskies 13-8 to claim the Canadian university football championship.
Michelle:
Was it worth it attending the game today and having to watch your Huskies lose in such freezing weather?!
Hope you had fun.
I still don't think I'm fully warmed up yet from the Vanier Cup (sitting outside for 5 hours in -30ºC weather, wow!), but it was a good time! I was in the student section, so we definitely had some of the best fans ever all around us. It was a pretty boring game, but the fans definitely made up for it! I'm sad that the Huskies lost, but oh well, this was technically our "rebuilding" season anyways, after losing Bilan and everyone last year!
The highlights? Probably the entire stadium's rendition of "Sweet Caroline" (dunno if the cameras caught that!), the signs that we had (a few were a little racially biased which I will never post on these boards for fear of extreme flaming), the best one being a checklist. I'll post it...
UBC - check
U of M - check
U of O - check
Cabbie's mom - check
Laval -
(the Cabbie reference being to Cabbie on the Street, since he was there and the game was being broadcast on the Score)
All in all, I had a great time! I really hope we get a chance to host the Vanier Cup again. The weather was terrible, but I was wearing SO many layers, so I didn't get too frostbitten!

canadian university sports are low leveled and stink.
especially compared to thr US.
they dont even give athletic scholarships
Actually it's a great idea not giving scholarships. It actually allows students to goto a university and get rewarded based on their academics and not being a jock that gets a free ride because he can shoot a ball or pass the puck.
