I am admittedly a huge Mario game fan. As I've already completed Ocarina Of Time 3DS and am badly needing another game for the system, Super Mario 3D Land is among my most anticipated games.

So far, it has received an average rating of 91% on metacritic. With IGN scoring it at 9.5, and Gamespot at 8.0

After watching the video review on Gamespot (http://www.gamespot....3d-land-6344585) I can't help but feel their score was wasn't really in line with the glowing remarks of the review. He talks on and on about how great the game is, yet it loses 2 complete marks for what appeared to be three features he didn't think were used enough (the gyrometer, 3d and streetpass)?

In either case, comes out this Sunday. Should be a lot of fun for anyone who loves some classic Mario.

And, the Tanooki suit is back! :)

Sounds awesome. I was considering picking up a 3DS... how do you like yours?

I would say, to this point, disappointed, especially considering I paid $70 more than you will. That said, there are a fair number of games that start releasing soon like Mario Kart 3DS (december, I think) and of course this game. SFIV, and Ocarina of Time, and Starfox are all good ones that are out right now too.

The hardware is good build quality, like all Nintendo's products, and has some neat pack in stuff. The online is better than the Wii's by a lot. No more stupid game specific friend codes and proper matchmaking can be done.

All in all, I'd say the system was a dud on launch, but is slowing become worth it's new price.

I've heard lots of complaints about battery life. Any credence to those?

Because that's one of the more important things to me in my portable systems, I'm usually playing them on the bus or train. It's a main reason why I was planning on waiting until Nintendo completes a second built "3DS Lite" if you would. Playstation's new handheld is looking more appealing to me right now though, especially since they don't region-lock their consoles.

I can't really afford another system right now anyway because next Sunday (the 20th) 70 dollars plus tax is gonna get eaten by the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "otherwise you wouldn't have come here."

Battery life isn't as good as DS, but it's not terrible. To be honest, I don't find it a huge problem personally. But I'm not usually out for super long stretches with it either

PS Vita looks awesome. I'll eventually get if just for Uncharted, if nothing else. Wont be launch though. Won't have money then.

Skyward Sword is an absolute must have. Really looking forward to it. Getting very good ratings too
