David Frost living in Cali under an alias and back in the hockey community

I actually didn't know he went to court for anything...but I did know he was kicked out of the GTHL and the OHA. I think he was kicked out after they heard the tape recordings between him and Danton, but I could be wrong...maybe they kicked him out earlier?

The nefarious David Frost, banned from the GTHL, banished from the OHA, the intended target of Mike Danton's failed hit, is back in the hockey business.
And he's taken on his wife's name in the process.
Now calling himself Jim McCauley -- combining a new given name, his wife Bridget's maiden name -- Frost is working at the Laguna Hockey Academy in Laguna Niguel, Calif. and typical of Frost, this is where the story gets a little murky.
Some people claim he is coaching and advising kids again -- an accusation he denies.
Some people claim he is running the hockey training establishment -- which on its website lists McCauley Hockey as its director of hockey -- which Frost denies.
Maybe the worst thing, one California parent insists, is that the majority of parents that she knows who have children training at Frost's establishment are well aware of who he is, know about his background, and in one parent's words "they don't seem to care." In fact, in the arena at Laguna Beach, a St. Louis Blues jersey with Danton's name and number hangs from one of the walls, another indication that Frost has no shame.
With Frost, though, the truth can be difficult to find.
"I am not coaching, teaching or working with kids," Frost told Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times. "I'm not using an alias. I'm using the McCauley name on my email and I've used it for years ... I'm not hiding. Rob (Barth, his boss) is not hiding. My wife, my family and I are not hiding.
"I certainly don't want to be on the ice. I am completely legal. The company is legal. It's above board."
His boss, Robert Barth, it should be noted, has his own history. Barth lost his licence as a certified financial planner for a laundry list of violations in 2008. Barth apparently owns the California hockey company that has contracted Frost to market and sell an apparent training product.
That's their story. The strength and conditioning coach at the establishment, David Pollitt, offers a different version.
He claims Frost was hired to run the hockey school last winter and arrived in California in May. Adam Keefe, a former client of Frost's, is listed as an instructor on the website. Pollitt has been Keefe's long-time personal trainer -- but a few weeks ago, he began to doubt that the man calling himself Jim McCauley was who he said he was.
"I went on the Internet and began searching until I found a picture of him," said Pollitt. "And I started reading all about him. When I saw a photo, I immediately recognized him. As soon as I found out it was him, I knew I had to get out of here.
"I'm leaving. I do not want my name associated with his. I've worked a long time to get where I am. He does not know that I know who he is. I don't want my name and his associated together."
Pollitt believes "when people find out who he is, I would imagine he will be out of a job or the deal (to buy the company) will fall apart."
Two people who work at the Laguna Academy also confirmed that Frost is in regular telephone contact with Danton, which is not a parole violation for the former hockey player. Danton is prevented from having face-to-face contact with Frost but the two speak often on the phone.
For his part, corroborated by Barth, a long-time associate, Frost claims he is not coaching, not running the school, but involved in marketing and selling of hockey training equipment and manuals.
But that's not what Chris Sheffield, a university hockey coach and instructor at Laguna Academy says. Sheffield, who runs the adult and youth leagues at the rink, claims Frost is running the school and instructing.
"When they bring in someone like Jim McCauley to run this establishment, people are happy with it because they know they are getting superior hockey instruction," said Sheffield, who says he understands why Frost has changed his name.
"I don't think anything about this is questionable. The second he landed in California, he changed his life. He changed his way. He changed his name. He's not running from anything, he's not hiding. People make mistakes or (are) accused of things in their life. How they rebound, how they change, that's how you judge them."
Frost was found not guilty in his controversial and distrubing sexual exploitation trial in an Ontario court in 2008.
"Listen, he's a good hockey coach," said Pollitt. "But when you talk to him, he thinks he has done everything and been everywhere. When you try to find out information about him, he hasn't played at any level of hockey anywhere. He did coach, but not for long. His stories about who he was, he was an agent, but he really only had two clients."
"I think we should all be concerned," said a mother who preferred anonymity to protect her son. "I'm extremely disturbed by this. But I don't sense others are as disturbed by this as I am. And that really really concerns me."
