Delicious Leafs Night WIngs
by Vik Rana

Ingredients:

30 Wings/Drumsticks (seperated)

1/2 Cup of Flour
1 Tablespoons of Salt
1 Tablespoons of Pepper
1/2 Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
1/2 Tablespoon of Onion Powder
1/2 Tablespoon of Paprika
1/2 Tablespoon of Cayenne
1 Teaspoon of Celery Seed (optional, I find it gives it an interesting twist)

1 Deep Fryer (using whatever oil you like, peanut, canola, vegetable etc.)
1 Ziploc Bag

Steps

1. Clean all your chicken in cold water, and ensure you're washing your hands constantly!
2. Place in a bowl and put aside.
3. Grab a large Ziploc bag, and put all the dry ingredients into it, and give it a good shake.
4. Put the chicken wings into the large ziploc bag with the dry ingredients, zip it up, and start shaking to ensure the flour mixture coats all of the pieces evenly.
5. Fill up your deep fryer with the oil, and wait until the oil reaches 375 degrees.
6. Once oil has reached the temperature, start deep frying your wings! It takes about 8-10 minutes depending on your fryer. Listen to the wings, you will hear the bubbling simmer down significantly when the wings are pretty much done.
7. Take out wings, and put them into a bowl, and they should look like this;

Next up, some hot sauce!

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup of Franks Red Hot Sauce (or Franks Red Xtra Hot Sauce if you wish)
1/2 Stick of Butter

1 Pot

Steps:

1. Place pot on stove, and set temp to medium.
2. Place in 1/2 stick of butter, and wait until it melts.
3. Add in 1/2 cup of Franks Hot Sauce
4. Let it come to a simmer (completely heated through) while gently mixing.

LAST STEP

Pour hot sauce over wings, mix them up, and enjoy!

Here's the finished product:

Sorry my camera isn't the greatest, came out super bright!

*The spices for the wings are approximates, you can adjust the salt/pepper to your liking, same with the other ingredients. This is just a good place to start, and you can experiment with it however you'd like.

*Also the sauce makes enough to cover the wings, but if you like your wings "sloppy" you may want to make more sauce!

Wow that finished product is bright.

Might be a little scared to eat those, they look like chemical warfare

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "otherwise you wouldn't have come here."

Anyone have a good BBQ sauce recipe for wings?

I use Diana's Honey Garlic when I want to switch it up a little.

Or I use Bullseye Sweet and Sticky BBQ sauce, and add some of my own spices to it.

Both are great choices.

I have one for you guys

Buffalo chicken dip

Ingredients
  • 1 (24-32 ounce) cans chunk chicken, drained or 3-4 chicken breasts
  • 1 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup pepper sauce (such as Frank's Red Hot®)
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
If you're using chicken breasts instead of canned chicken, I usually boil the chicken until it's cooked throughly...after cooked, cut up chicken in smallish pieces so that it will shred easily.

Next, add all ingredients (minus one cup of cheddar cheese) to a slow cooker, cooking on high. after the rest of the ingredients start to heat up and melt together, then add the other cup of cheese. Once everything is melted together and chicken looks shredded, turn to off or warm.

Should look a bit like this

Posted Image

This dip goes great with crackers or celery.

If you would like the dip to have a bit more of a kick, you can add more hot sauce to taste. If you don't have a slow cooker or crock pot, you can also make this in a pan. I just like making it in the crock because after it's all melted you can put it on "warm" and keep the dip nice and toasty while you're serving it.

Tastes just like chicken wings on a cracker....we're having a party next week at our office and this is what I'm bringing, always a big hit.

It's amazing what you can do with a phone call and a little bit of delivery...me I like to order pizza for the big game. Wings are great, and I always keep some soda on hand. Let's face it wild wing is the stuff, and when I eat wild wings, I always order Go Leafs Go style wings, nice and mild not to spicy, delicious stuff!
Hey why not right? We all love the leafs....really can't beat that. Nachos and popcorn are great standby's.

I watched the leafs game with my gf one year and we had some chips and nachos and munchies and things, we also had a fruit plate which is a great idea, just cut up some watermelon or honey dew or anything like that....throw in some strawberries, crackers, cheese dip, any of that works great for a big game (thumbs up).

Don Cherry would probably approve...lol.

Screw crackers, I'd just bury my face in the bowl. I think that's probably worse than double dipping, but what can you do?

The best purchase I've made in a long time - deep fryer!

I buy wings in bulk, cut them myself into wing/drums, lose the tips.

1 Cup of flour, salt/pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and some cayenne (all seasonings to taste - I don't really measure) all into a ziploc bag

Take the wings and throw them in the bag, shake to coat

Straight into the deep fryer at 375degrees

Fry for about 8-10 minutes until done

Then comes the classic hot sauce, 1 stick of butter - melt it in a pot, stir in 1/2 cup of franks red hot (extra hot if you want more kick) and mix until blended - and then toss your freshly fryed wings in the sauce and done! (you can adjust the amount of hot sauce/butter depending on how many wings you have, the idea is to get a good coat all over)

Pair that with some MGD and you've got good eating for game nights - I'm ready, are you???

Didn't know the wings would be a hit! You should hear some of the other recipes I have up my sleeves.

Pavlova anyone?

Anyway, I don't know how many of us are local, but a Leafs night with wings, beer, nachos supreme (TLF!), and some of that home made beef jerky (17mancrush) sounds like it would be a blast! A night of Leafs action, tasty food, drinks and the inevitable debates would be fun!

Nice additions Seer! That's the beauty of cooking, you can add, subtract, or change the amount of anything and you'll get different, yet equally delicious results every time!

I played around with my recipes for years until I found the right combinations of everything, for my taste.

MGD = Miller Genuine Draft, I love all kind of beer, but this is one of the main stays. Love pairing it with bbq/fried food!

We need a Leafs recipe thread!
