That is hard logic to argue with..somthing needs to happen, you hit a bullseye there.I hear what you all are saying...but really, this group is not working out for many reasons including Coach Wilson. I say we bring in Nash et al in a multi player deal and build around a franchise player...starting by making him Captain when he arrives pronto. Bring up any of the young Marlies with heart and potential NHL potential and lets play ball...they will be hungry and it would give BB a good look at what these futures are really made of. I don't freakin care right now.

I'm not the GM, but I know I would get rid of 50% of our current roster and start building around Nash and one or two other star players brought in...what the H is the risk...if the current payroll ain't paying dividends why lose stock!! Bring up Colbourne Kadri and most of the young talents you are able to hang onto visa vi trades and start again. Nothing to lose, really. That is hard logic to argue with..somthing needs to happen, you hit a bullseye there.

Nash couldn't make Columbus a winner with talent like Carter how will he change the Leafs fortunes ? Beside that he is a RW does he take Kessel's spot on the top line ?

Sad part is, this would be the year to do it. Strong draft, strong players at ALL positions. I agree with you completly that some youth should be brought up, their energy might help kickstart the team. I firmly believe next year barring any trades our third line is going to be:I'm not the GM, but I know I would get rid of 50% of our current roster and start building around Nash and one or two other star players brought in...what the H is the risk...if the current payroll ain't paying dividends why lose stock!! Bring up Colbourne Kadri and most of the young talents you are able to hang onto visa vi trades and start again. Nothing to lose, really.

We would lose both Colborne, Kadri, Gardiner and a 1st rounder to acquire Nash.
Basically we would get nash to start a rebuild or potentially just trade other pieces for picks and hope that the FA pool can fit all the OTHER significant holes on our team.
I'm all for Nash but the price might be too steep unless Scott Howson lowers his price.

Your kidding right ? You want the Leafs to attract a player like Nash then ask him to play with a bunch of AHL players that can't make the team as it is ?I'm not the GM, but I know I would get rid of 50% of our current roster and start building around Nash and one or two other star players brought in...what the H is the risk...if the current payroll ain't paying dividends why lose stock!! You do realize that the best of that talent would have to go to Columbus for Nash then we would have a weaker team than Columbus did with Nash and Carter so we could take over the basement right on good plan .
God I'm glad your not the GM .

If you read my post correctly, you would have read.. I would get rid of 50% of our current roster and start building around Nash and one or two other star players brought in..Star players in a multi player deal if it could be done. That way you are really not playing with a basement team...you are playing with an upgrade in say 3 to 4 players from the old roster and would be equally as capable of competing for the playoffs again next season. So if we bottom out we get higher picks again.Your kidding right ? You want the Leafs to attract a player like Nash then ask him to play with a bunch of AHL players that can't make the team as it is ?

What are you trying to say. That Phaneuf was and is the answer to our D woes...give me a break...heard of Ryan Suter?? or anyother capable tough D man..plenty could do as good if not better...don't think there aren't.That's smart. Phaneuf for Nash, wooo. That's going to help us keep the puck out of our own zone.

I wouldn't trade phaneuf for nash. But I would definitely be shopping him around to see if I can pry away an elite d-man. I consider Phaneuf an elite 2nd pairing D man.

Nope. never disappointed and always prepared to hear otherwise. Just because it's what I want..isn't necessarily going to happen. So, for many years it's just a small insignificant blip in my life...but it sure would be sweet..for me anyway...I would gladly say I was damn wrong if it was a terrible decision....I like to go against the grain...when every one else expects what they believe to be "logical"your going to be disappointed come deadline day when Nash isn't in a TLM jersey. I'm betting he stays in CLB until at least the draft..
