  • Dmitry Chesnokov via twitter: Mikhail Grabovski’s agent: “We understand their position and I believe that they understand our position, we are more than fair.” … “Mikhail wants to play for the Leafs for many years & win the Stanley Cup with them and I absolutely agree with him. “

I agree 110%...But it seems like the "So called know it all's" not mentioning any names....lol....Think going with our youth and saving money is more important.....For what? to wait another 5 years while our soo called "Hopefulls" mature into "Could be" allstars? No thanks....6 years & no playoffs & 45 years with no cup = ONE REALLY PISSED FAN ...I as well as the majority of Leaf Nation want results and we want fcccccking results yesterday.....No Leaf Nation, No Leafs.....remembre that....Honour our passion and loyalty to this organzitation...Stop ignoring the people the truly matter..............

Its just true, most fans would be pissed and given up after 10 yrs of no cup, nevermind adding 35 more and 7 no show in post season, now we have to wait another 6yrs? Ill have a fackin cain by then, this is truly MISERABLE for an original 6 team, one full of history to boot. Freakin dismal is all I can say, give us somthing to smile about BB time has come to get a player in his PRIME and a leader to boot, something we havnt had in T.O. since the horse and buggy it feels like, and he will be around for years, in his PRIME, oh yea we leaf fans arn't used to that so pardon me for repeating myself.

Last year I would say no way to trade Dion, but something is wrong now and he is not playing well under Wilson. He is getting put out on all the toughest assignments and also with not enough rest. Dion is not being used wisely by the coaching staff and by the look on Dion's face one can tell something isn't right between him and the coaching staff. Dion is a number one d'man when utilised properly but appears to being set up to fail by the coaching staff. He is an open ice hitter who likes to join the rush and yet he gets put out there to be a shut down d'man. If we trade him he'll end up being a plus player and probably gets 15-20 goals. The Leafs got to start to use him properly and at the right time, it seems like the coaches are trying to change his strengths and not putting him out when they should and putting him out when they shouldn't. There's definitely a problem in the dressing room, when you hear Dion avoids his team mates and yet is the Captain something is not right. When he first got here he looked so much better and looked to have a bright future with the Leafs but something has gotten to him that is irking him. Yes get Nash but only if it doesn't cost us most of our prospects and next 2 years early draft picks. As others have pointed out Nash is not the most prolific scorer and certainly is not the answer to our defensive woes. Steve Ott would help this team and so would Dustin Brown, either guy probably as much as Nash would. Allaire has forced both our young goalies to play a style they are not used to, they wouldn't be in this mess if they were just left alone to play their own style and coaching just helped tweak their strengths as opposed to trying to change their whole game. Allaire is one of the most detrimental things that has happened to the Leaf's goalies.

Rumour has it Nash wants to be a Leaf and Burke knows it, hence his refusal to include Gardiner. If Nash does get moved it will be to the Leafs or he won't get moved at all. I am watching the Marlies beat the Bulldogs 4-0 and they look pretty good. Eakins has them playing like a team and isn't using any divisive tactics creating dissention. Time for Wilson to try a new approach or this Leaf team is not going to respond. It's easy to tell they are playing to get the coach out, this team has already proved it can play well and win, even against the better teams. Fix the dressing room BB even if it means parting ways with your school mate, you can still be friends with him, but to keep being stubborn is just going to enforce the poor play that is becoming commonplace now. When a team scores on us he pouts and you can see him mouth "F-me." He should explain why the other team scored and inspire them to get it back. He never pats his guys on the back like Claude Julien or New Jersey's coach, or most other coaches for that matter. I would bet the Marlies would beat the Leafs at this point. The Marlies play a far more complete game with much better defensive play.

Hey guys and gals, have I not mentioned many times on this forum that Don Cherry has always stated that Rick Nash will be a Leaf. Now, take it how you will or not. Nash is human...has friends, and of course eventually the truth comes out...I have no reason not to believe it...Nash wants to play only for the Leafs. Burke knows it and that is his weapon....don't know what else to say.

I don't think Nash is the answer. The Leafs need a proven top 10 goalie. That game against Pittsburgh and the end of January made it clear to me. I would give up anyone on the club in return. (Kessel and Lupul for Miller?) The dropoff to Kadri/Colborne/Frattin wouldn't be that great. It was a big mistake not cutting Gustavsson loose at last years trade deadline, and not resigning Giguere for 1 more year to tutor Reimer.

Just got htis off of HTR...Seems like Burke is starting to rub people the wrong way...Looking like a Hypocrite right about now.....

HTR Quoting Burke:
I want to get in with a reasonable chance to (advance deep) or bloody someone’s nose while doing it,” he stated in January when everyone in the Eastern Conference except Boston and the Rangers were tripping over themselves. Burke even said draft picks and prospects could be on the table to hit a home run.

Now, he’s tempered expectations to the point where something small could be all that results from the next day and half of discussions. If he doesn’t want to put precious resources such as Jake Gardiner on the market, the Leafs will be waiting for Plan B or C deals that spin off other teams’ dealings.....

That seems to be the case, I think not just him but a few key players arent happy with Wilson, to be honest I would really love to see Mike Keenan take the bench, he stated that he wants to coach again, some people might not think hes a good coach but I think he would be perfect for the Leafs considering his background coaching both West and East, bringing the Stanley cup to NYR after 40 years, I would love to see him take our Leafs to the cup!!

Reimer might be in a sophomore slump, he might also be suffering from concussion symptoms. There is no doubt Gustavsson has been a pretty decent goalie this year, just suffering from inconsistency issues.

Nash is a great piece to build around, Howson is making his price ridiculous. Nash has a huge contract but is a beast. There is a reason everyone wants him. Offering 4 TOP prospects/picks is overpayment for any player.

My analysis:

Burke is telling the fans what they want to hear. He obviously wants a top player, but he realizes he most likely can't pick one up.

Fire his butt out of here and his coaching staff, bring back Pat Quinn for GM and put Keenan on the bench or even Doug Gilmour with maybe Wendl Clark as assistant, that would be kick ***!!

I truly believe Burke is letting Wilson run this team...This is not the team Burke wanted....Orr, and Rosehill are gone....Why is this team losing muscle instead of gaining muscle...Is that not what Burke wanted??? now look....Teams like Boston, NY, even the damm Jets as of late have made our guy's look like a bunch of underachieved school boys getting bullied after school....Brown is trully the only Muscle this team has....And sorry, but thats not gonna cut it when it comes down to playing guys like Lucic, Chara and Thornton all in the same game..Their gonna eat us up and spit us out all over the damm boards...
