Tipping point for me. Another loss tonight, and the fail for Nail/Mikhail drive begins.

Not that I won't be watching every Leaf game and hoping for a win (which is contradictory) but it'll change the way I'll look at other games played in the league.

Umm wrong Game thread, go find last nights game thread and post this in there.

By the way we lost to the Stanley Cup Champions of Last Year
and only by 1 point and we played hard and a great battle it was.

No shame in last nights game.

No I mean it for today. As in the tipping point is THIS game against the Pens.

And there was shame in the way defence played last night. And not just team defence but specifically the defence core.

Tweets everywhere right now, Carter Ashton has been Called Up.

Yes... I see one source saying this, but there has also been no confirmation... I think you may be right, though.. He was reported on the plane to Pittsburgh, this morning.. Another reason may be, that Lombardi was also supposedly injured last night, to.. (hope that is wrong!).

I would have called up Colborne, myself.. I like Ashton.., don't get me wrong... He's "smokin' hot" in the Marlies, right now..! I just would have gone with more experience.

Alex.. Please read yesterday's GT (1st page-line-ups)... You are probably right, but,..... go read.. thanks.

Carter Ashton on my flight to Pittsburgh. Leafs may need a body tonight with Lupul/Armstrong out. Would be first NHL game.

Ashton is the prospect most similar to Lupul, still surprised they didn't go with someone that had seniority in the orginization.

gotta look at it from the Marlies standpoint. They could afford to lose Ashton to the Leafs. They cant afford to love Colborne or someone else because they need them.

I can understand that, it's a good one spot to pick. Personally my 'tipping point' was the OT loss to the Devils in late February. I felt that if we didn't rebound there, we never would. And I'm feeling the same way you're anticipating feeling. I'm still rooting for our Leafers to make it in, but I've also started rooting for the Western conference teams that are behind us to catch us (because that has no bearing on our playoff standing), and the Eastern conference teams that are behind us to narrow the gap, so that if we do fail to make the playoffs, the race is narrow enough for us to still maybe get a high pick.

For instance, tonight I want the Canes to win, not only because they're playing the Sabres who are ahead of us, but also because it'll put them only 1 point behind us and put us 2 points out of 14th place in the East.

Ashton is the prospect most similar to Lupul, still surprised they didn't go with someone that had seniority in the orginization.

Agreed, even though he's not playing great I kind of expected Kadri to get another shot.

I didn't really expect Colborne because we've got a bunch of centres up right now.

Oh well, good luck Carter.

Lil Help with league rules here from somone more Knowlegable then me.... if Brown/Army/Lupul out from Injury can we have a call up(s) that does not effect that stupid 4 player call up rule.... might be cuz I have too much on my desk at the moment but cannot seem to get my head around it....

As for tonight.... like one other poster mentioned if we can play full 60 like 1st and 3rd last night have a good chance... liked Carlyles post game (especially when he said Armstrong had an issue with his nose.. )... but he is spot on when he mentioend that this team needs to maintin a "Compete" attitude....

Only wish Randy had some more time to get some good practice time in, back to back last 2 days, 2 days of practice then back to back games again Sat and Sun...

Going to be tough... but still not out of it... GLG

Alright lets break it down for you
Currently our roster carries 14 forwards, 7 D, and 2 Goalies

If at any time our roster drops below 12 forwards, 6 D or 2 Goalies, we are entitled an emergency call-up (from anyone in our system) that is outside the "4 call up rule," and exempt from waivers for the purpose of bringing our roster back to the league minimum (of 12 forward, 6 D and 2 Goalies) but as soon as one of our injured roster members becomes healthy that emergency call up must be returned to his AHL (or ECHL or Junior) Club.

So since Army, Brown and Lupul are out for us that lowers our roster to 11 forwards and we're allowed to recall any one forward in the system to push us back to 12. We've chosen Ashton, As soon as any of those forwards (Brown, Army or Lupul) are available for game duty, Ashton must immediately be returned to the Marlies.

This can get confusing if there are multiple injuries. Say for instance Army, Brown, Lupul, Komi and Schenn were injured for us. We'd be reduced to 11 forwards and 5 D, and we'd be allowed to recall 1 forward and 1 D on an emergency basis. Now say that Army and Lupul returned from injury, we'd have to send our called up forward back down, but even though we got two players back we would still only have 5 D and we'd retain the Dman we called up.

Thanks for clarifying this point about call-ups, Taco... I kinda' thought that last night..., but wasn't sure.., so that is why I mentioned you in my post.

So... the question is now.., "Is Lombardi also injured..?" I'm getting conflicting reports on this.. Guess we will find out, by Noon..?

....so now we can blame the rookies in the lineup?? I heard this morning on the radio that Leafs spend about 22 million of defence....Rangers spend 11 million.....I guess it's the Canadian dollar or something....don't think our guys are really earning their cheques.....problem with contracts...no accountability.
