Only one player left on the list (outside of Doan) that brings anything to the Leafs and that's Arnott. Leadership, grit, size, and is still putting up points. Love this guy!
Might be a good pickup for the leadership, but he is very slow in his old age. Not the same guy he once was but a good depth leader

Slow, but I will bet you he works harder than 90% of the guys on this team (mainly Kessel), and they could stand to learn a thing or two from him about what it takes to have a long and successful NHL career... and it's not just talent!

2. Shane Doan, W, Phoenix
3. Alex Semin, W, Washington
4. Andrei Kostitsyn, W, Nashville
5. Peter Mueller, W, Colorado
6. Michal Rozsival, D, Phoenix
7. Petr Sykora, W, New Jersey
8. Jason Arnott, C, St. Louis
10. Pavel Kubina, D, Philadelphia
I’ve left off Teemu Selanne, as he will only remain with the Ducks.
Other UFAs from our Top 100 list still available:
Forwards: Hecht, Winnik,
Defencemen: Colaiacovo, Clark, Hannan, Spacek, White, Huskins, Gilroy, Jurcina, Gragnani, Martinek, Campoli,
Goaltenders: Ellis, Roloson,
None of these guys seem to fit the bill. I wouldn't mind having Doan, but he will be very expensive, plus it looks like he is going to Vancouver. Semin is too inconsistent, not sure why they rate Kostitsyn so highly, guys who score 16 goals a season are pretty common. Mueller has had serious concussion issues, and only scored 7 goals last year. Rozsival is interesting as a d-man, but would be way too expensive given his age and experience. And Sykora and Arnott are too old, and past their prime.
Anybody this list is missing?

Did Dan Ellis fall off a cliff? I remember a couple years ago he was the most sought after goalie in the league....
Good question. His career numbers are pretty solid, but he has no current contract. Spent the last 2 seasons with TB/Anaheim (mid-season trade), but only got in 10 games last year and ended up with only a single win. It must stink to be Hiller's backup. Anaheim has signed Viktor Fasth from the Swedish Elite league to be Hiller's backup, so there is no room for Ellis. Not sure he will get a contract this year with his weak 2011-2012 W/L numbers.
