I've watched a bunch of vids of this guy. Seems like a hard nosed player that can also pop a few goals as well. I think Burkie needs way more than this guy to avoid being fired though.

From what i've read and heard from people who have watched him, he's an A-hole on the ice. Voted most hated player in the KHL for 3 seasons straight or something.

Him and Ross on our 3rd line. Going to be awesome in the future :)

Interesting. We could use a pest. We really haven't had one for a long time, probably since Tucker (and vintage Tucker before he started thinking he was a goal scorer)

I guess Army's a bit of one, but he's always injured.
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "otherwise you wouldn't have come here."

I'm wagering Army is not back next season. He was a waste even when healthy.

big lie imo, he was a great lockerroom guy, and he has a great sense of humour, even when injured he was joking about it with the media. I kind of want to see him come back next year and have a healthy year for us.

Exactly ;)

Hey I'm not a fan of dirty players but if we don't have a player who all the other fans are complaining is dirty we're not a complete team.

What's Chicago without Keith?
What's Boston without Lucic/Chara?

We need a controversial guy. I'm not asking him to be Torres-style dirty, but a guy who'll skirt the edge would be nice.

Ok, fine. Can you name one thing he did on the ice all year of any importance at all? If you can, I digress.

I have been hoping for this guy to cross the pond for over 3 years now.

We need more A** holes who can play on this team. They have been far too nice for far too long. I miss the Corson, Domi, Tucker and Roberts years.

If he plays like he did his first year here, he's a good guy to have around. Just needs to stay healthy. Unless he gets moved in a package deal for another forward, I'd easily see him back over Lombardi or someone like that if they're indeed going with a tougher two-way style (pending camp of course)

I watched a few other videos too, but I do see some skating in this one that reminds me a little of Grabo & Kule... He might also fit well with Kess & Lupes, too..., though..? The speed is there..

Well I have no problem, with signing players that are big at all, as long as they can play tough like a regular brick wall...lol. Ya, the pest factor has been missing for a while. It's not that we do not have any smart or skilled players, but OMG is the toughness and intimidation factor ever lacking. Look at philly. No I do not think they deserve to go very far in the playoffs they have way too many obvious holes, but they are there, and the only reason why they are is because when they play their style they are damn scary and intimidating to play against.

Name me one guy on the current leaf roster that strikes fear into anyone else? With ross (tucker number two so to speak), komarov, ashton hopefully, holzer, mueller, and then abbott, carrick, etc in a couple years we have the makings of a team with skill and size that can put some butterflies into the oppositions stomaches! I say go for it!

That 2006 draft is looking better and better. If you draft two good NHLers, you're doing well. If you draft three you've had an excellent draft. The Leafs took Tlusty (flourishing with the Hurricanes), Kulemin, Reimer, Holzer, Stalberg, Ruegsegger and Komarov. Holzer is apparently the Marlies' best defenceman and ready to step up to the NHL. If Komarov makes it, that leaves one player out of the seven the Leafs drafted who has failed to make it as a pro, i.e. Ruegsegger.

Six NHLers in one draft with no Top 10 pick. That's fantastic work even if there are no true all-stars in the group.

The Leafs' amateur scouts are often criticized but when credit is due, it's due.

Sorry Seer. But it's unrealistic to think he'll be on a line with Lupul or Kessel. He might not even make the NHL. And his stats aren't top 6.

He's a 3rd or 4th line guy tops from what i've read.

But, him and Ross on the third line together. Oh baby. Going to be awesome if it happens :)

He is the perfect kind of guy to have on the fourth line. Add a healthy mike brown centred by steckel and you have a line that can win faceoffs and puck battles, pitch in the occasional goal, while getting in the head of the opposition. He would also have an entry level contract, so he could be shuffled back and forth.

We're not really gonna count on him being a top line guy.

Expect him more in Army's third line role, but before that expect him in the Marlies.

Agreed... I think it is really time for Army to move along to that Broadcasting career... Although.. I love his grit & determination, it appears his days in the NHL have come and gone..

Armstrong is expendable. On ice tangibles are more important than what he brings to the locker room or post game interview.

Komarov would be good with Brown and Steckel on the 4th. Assuming we get a 1st line centre, Bozak would be joining Connolly on the third with Frattin/Kadri or a UFA signing, Lombardi hasn't warranted that spot outright and may find himself traded, bought out, waived, or pressbox company for Burke.
The Jared Knight draft pick was used by the Leafs to acquire both Mikhail Grabovski and Phil Kessel in two separate transactions, making it the most useful draft pick on the chart.

Looks like a robust, power forward with speed and likes to shoot.
I like him already.

Boston vs. Toronto playoff series.

Phil Kessel - 4 goals

Tyler Seguin - 0 goals

I wouldn't say power forward, more grinder/agitator

But if they had a bottom 6

of like

Frattin-Connolly/Bozak-Armstrong/Frattin/Hamilton/Crabb
Brown-Steckel-Komarov/Crabb

They're getting somewhere.

Maybe throw in Kulemin on the third line, if Kadri or Frattin is better on the second line, or if they get another forward, but mix and mash.
