I'm going to keep this short. It's pretty clear to me that this seasons not going to happen. If the season stood a chance we would see precautionary moves but instead teams have pretty much halted any new deals. Don't take my word 100% I just don't want people to get their hopes up. The players association will say they want to do what's best for the fans but that's just a line.
Anyways IF there is a lock out the best thing we can all do is boycott any NHL product!!! especially NHL13 and NHL Jerseys.

Lets show these heartless monsters that they can't get away with screwing us over any more. If they have problems they have to find a way to deal without taking it out on us their FANS!

I'm not buying NHL 13 if there's a lockout. It's not a big move by myself but if i can convince others to then that's the point.

I don't own a PS3/X-box 360 so not buying NHL 13 was already in my future plans. And I wasn't planning on buying another jersey/gear unless it's the Winter Classic jersey/gear, and if there's no season there will be no Winter Classic, and hence no Winter Classic gear.

So in conclusion, I'm on board, but good luck getting everyone else to tow that line.

^ saw that ... 563 signatures won't get the 8 million dollar man fired.... besides he is doing exactly what the owners are hiring him to do... have EVERYONE outside the ownership hate him and take all the heat.....

I have a hard time with the responses so far! Your right to boycott is something we should do. That little weasel Buttmen called us the "Best Fans in the world" what he really meant is they can walk all over us and there is nothing we will do about it! Its abuse and we do need to stand up somehow. Yes it will be a challenge because there are some fans who love to be abused...I am already tired of the abuse that is a direct result of the Expansion... Buttmen`s experiment has failed!

You all need to wake up because it’s not them who are suffering with a Lockout or a Strike it’s the fans! They really don`t care... players will still be paid the teams that are well off, will survive and the ones that are failing well that is the whole issues now isn`t. If they go to a lockout teams that are wealthy will have to fix this problem by throwing cash at it and how long do you think that will happen if we stand on a line and say no more! Doesn’t mean we stop being fans it just means we stop buying products till this is resolved. That isn’t too much to ask is it?... or do you like to be made a fool of?

Actually there was a dragon's den episode where these guys created this brand new cereal and they called it something like "really good ****." The funny thing is everyone that sampled it said wow this is really good **** here! Not only did they do well on the show, apparently the guys that did that sell this cereal for real and have made a good living off of it, so hey there ya go! The maple leafs cereal is not a bad idea after all. Maybe we can throw in marshmallow hockey pucks, and a free hockey card of a random player in specially marked boxes lol.

Ok maybe I am punchy, it's been a tough summer, work as a Safety Inspector in the Mechanical Construction field, has been feast and famine... but I read this artical http://www.thestar.c...ual-tv-schedule and had some thoughts... was just wondering if anyone else is seeing what I am...

Looks like Bettman and Co (IMO) are really wanting to stroke the NBC, looks like the NBC might be tickled pink if the NHL resumed on Friday Nov 23rd the day after the American Thanksgiving.... looks to me like a planned ploy on NBC's part to grab sports ratings following a day of Football....

Again I could be punchy.. but could Bettman be planning to coordinate a stoppage until viable to have the start up be this date????? I know the NBC is coughing up 200Bil for television rights....

Ok off to another site at crab at ppl for not wearing fall harness's properly....

I do understand fully that reasoning and logic. It does make sense in a way, seeing as Bettman is american anyhow and it's always his way or the highway, nine times out of ten. I didn't realize the NBC put up money for broadcasting rights like that so you may be on to something there. However the way the talks are going right now and the way the offers keep getting turned down, how many more times can they sit at the table and fire offers and counter offers at each other before they finally get fed up and say screw it?

I hope you are right and hockey does resume at some point (better late than never) but I'm preparing unfortunately for life without the nhl this year myself.

I doubt it. That's an smack load of lost revenue. for the heavy hitters like the Leafs/Rogers/Bell. Owners won't like that.

The article seems to be insinuating that is merely when the most pressure would be applied to get something done ( if there still is a lockout at that point). NBC still needs programming for Versus, and wouldn't like to be paying that licensing fee for less content, I would assume.

It is great the USA FINALLY got a major network contract... That being said, this makes the lockout even worse for the NHL. I wish NBC refused to sign anything until the lockout has been finalized. We finally get our foot in major broadcasting in the states to have it start with a lockout.. wow that is good timing... Ah well, My bills may have a winning record this year, at least I will have something to watch..

I loved the Versus network before NBC bought it. They would show every Sharks game and a lot of other good NHL games. As soon as it became NBC Sports, that stopped. So I am really excited about this deal, but then...there's the lockout :(

What is getting Bettman fired going to do really? His non acceptance of the Coyotes being a failed franchise is the only thing worth firing him for, as well as the other failed franchises since he took the job almost 20 years ago. He can't be fired because the owners are being too aggressive with CBA talks, it is not his position to tell the owners what they want, it is his position to represent them in the bargaining process.

LOL!

I remember that, I think there was actually a flavour called "Holy ****" and they were all like "Holy **** that **** is really good!"

I'm sure Maple Leafs cereal would do really well.

This lockout nonsense it's really starting to bug me.

All we do is stand by our team, pay insane amounts of money to see them play, Keep this organization rich out of their minds and we are getting screwed over by the failed American organizations.

The lockout is a product of Gary Bettman putting teams in the deserts of America and expecting them to succeed. If Bettman put all of those struggling teams north of the border we wouldn't be having this issue.

We have to suffer because Americans don't care about hockey, They rather shoot rats out in a field so why are we forced to wait around because Bettman has the common sense of a piece of toast.

The problem isn't player salary it's because the league is sick of paying for their own mistakes from putting teams in places that are full of people who have never seen snow in their lives.

How about we give all those teams that are losing money a year off to figure out their shat and let the teams with actual fan bases play hockey.

As long as there is an American running the league he will try to push the game to his country and to areas that have no interest in Hockey. Its not right but thats the way it is.

That's a pretty close minded statement.

Whoever is running the league, American or Canadian, will push the game of hockey where it will make the most money.

Hence moving Atlanta to Winnipeg, and talk of New York/Phoenix moving to Quebec.

It also depends on the owner who tries to buy a club and where he's from.
