Fact is, this guy wasn't good enough to be on a team that doesn't stink and knows how play without the puck. Montreal will be laughing all the way to the bank with the return for this kid. He will be back in europe within a year - just like Gamache.

They just traded the second rounder we gave them so they could obtain Lang, and that 5th rounder we gave them probably won't even make it to the NHL. Basically, they traded a young talented player with alot of potential for an old declining one. Montreal had a log jam at the center position, and they have another talented center prospect on the way, so they just didn't have room for them in their future. If Grabovski pans out, this trade will surely come back to haunt them. Habs fans will be left saying "we should've moved him to wing." He's got great speed (no one even on Montreal could rival him there) but he's very weak along the boards. Don't get me wrong, the guy has balls. He'll go into the corner knowing he'll get beat. He'll keep his eye on the ball even when he knows he's about to get demolished, and he's pretty decent at gaining the zone with the puck because if the opposition defenders don't start backing up he'll blow right past them. He's got great skills. He's really good at backchecking, getting back to his own zone when that's where he needs to be, only once he does get back there he's not so great positionally. Bob Gainey only brought him over last year, which makes his presence in the NHL more impressive because up until then he played in a lighter league and he's adjusted to the physicality level here pretty quickly (a year and a half of pro hockey). And then there's the story of when he got the puck in the face, had all his front teeth knocked out and his lips screwed up so badly that when he closed his mouth, it was still open. He had the doctor sew him back up and he finished the game with a cage. The doctor who'd been working with sthletes his entire life said he'd never such a horrific injury.

I just don't think he's a second line center at this point in his career. The kid didn't even play center in the OHL and hasn't played one game at center in the NHL. In the NHL and in junior he has been listed as LW and c'mon - I know it's fairly easy for a center to move to the wing, but it's MUCH harder to teach a winger how to take faceoffs and lead a line at center. And whether or not he was a center overseas is irrevelant. He has yet to do it in north america and nobody knows he's even capable. Grabovski on the other hand is listed as, and has played center.

Not taking anything away from Grabsky, as I'm sure I'm going to enjoy watching this kid play for us. (Yes, I spelled his name like that on purpose, just trying to get the nick name train rollin' early ) There is love burning to find you...
